NOKIA SERIES 40 SHORTCUT SETUP GUIDE
Here is how you setup a shortcut to Daily Downtime on a Nokia Series 40 handset (which you have). Please bear in mind that there are a million and one variations between handsets, so yours may not behave in exactly the same way as the one pictured. Hopefully you will be able to figure out the nuances of your own handset with our help.
We will take you through it stage by stage, with photos to help you out. It's not that difficult, honest. Ok, let's get started:
This is the default Series 40 Home screen you see when you have unlocked your keypad and are preparing to use your handset. Your shortcuts run along the top of the screen.
The first thing to do is to push up on your navigation key until the middle icon of your shortcuts at the top of the screen is highlighted. Notice that the left softkey says "Options"? This is what you press now.
This is the screen you will see, and Change Shortcut is highlighted by default. That's good, as that's the option we want, so select it.
You are now put into the "Replace shortcut with" menu. Scroll down to "Application list" as we have done in the
screenshot, and select this.
Now you see the applications you have on your handset. Scroll down to Daily Downtime and select it.
You can now see that the Daily Downtime icon is setup on your shortcuts menu, right in the middle. Excellent.
This is what we wanted. Now you can exit your shortcuts by using the "Exit" softkey on the right of your
handset.
With the shortcut setup, all you need to do to get to Daily Downtime is nudge up on your navigation key and select DD. That's it!
So our navigation to Daily Downtime has gone from:
Home Screen --> Main Menu --> Application --> Daily Downtime
to:
Home Screen --> Daily Downtime
It might not seem like much, but it will make life a lot easier for you, we promise.
